Introduction
Norfolk & Waveney/Suffolk & North East Essex ICBs Collaborative Community Pharmacy Integration Project
Community Pharmacy Norfolk & Suffolk (CPNS) is excited to announce its success in securing a competitive tender to lead a community pharmacy integration project across both the Norfolk & Waveney ICB and the Suffolk and Norfolk East Essex ICB.
The one-year initiative will focus on supporting key NHS services, including the Discharge Medicines Service (DMS), Pharmacy First Service, the Hypertension Case Finding Service (HCFS), and the Pharmacy Contraceptive Service (PCS).
Key elements of the project will be raising awareness among stakeholders and service providers, as well as enhancing public engagement. The project will be managed and delivered by the CPNS team’s existing officers, with additional support from former Suffolk LPC Chief Officer, Tania Farrow.
Full details on this announcement can be found here.
Please make sure you and your pharmacy team members follow our communication channels for project updates.

As part of the CPNS Integration Project, a portion of the fund will support a targeted social media campaign to engage the local population and relevant cohorts.
The campaign plan for March is as follows:
Further boosted social media posts will be made from April to August with the first 6 weeks focusing on the Pharmacy First Service, followed by the Hypertension Case Finding Service and the Pharmacy Contraception Service.
The success of this campaign will be assessed using key engagement metrics, including:
– Reach & Impressions – The number of people who have seen our posts.
– Engagement Rates – Likes, shares, comments, and interactions.
– Click Through Rates – Tracking how many users take action based on the posts.
Insights gathered from these metrics will help us refine future campaigns and maximise patient awareness.
We would strongly encourage you to head to our Facebook page, like and share these posts to increase awareness of the services you deliver to your patients.
Please note that Facebook has been selected as the preferred platform vs our X and LinkedIn platforms, as it is our main public facing platform which has the added option to display adverts across Instagram. Facebook also has the highest number of Contractor pages along with allowing for sharing to local Facebook groups which increases the organic reach to our local patient populations.

Hypertension Case Finding Service
The Hypertension case-finding service was commissioned as an Advanced service from 1st October 2021. In public-facing communications, the service is described as the NHS Blood Pressure Check Service.
From 1st December 2023, the service specification changed to allow suitably trained and competent pharmacy staff (pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other non-registered members of the pharmacy team) to provide the service.
It is essential that ABPMs are provided to patients when needed and your pharmacy can offer this as part of the service and when refused appropriate clinical patient records made.
