Pharmacist Enhanced Practice Pathway: Supporting newly qualified prescribers

With independent prescribing becoming a core part of pharmacy practice, the pathway aims to help early career pharmacists build confidence, competence and consistency in their prescribing role through structured learning and workplace support. The programme is aligned to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s Enhanced Curriculum and includes online learning modules, workshops, supervised learning events, an e-portfolio, and dedicated support from an educational supervisor. Pharmacists registered as independent prescribers at the point of registration, from any sector of practice, will be eligible to apply.

Applications for cohort one, for IPs employer-provided educational supervision will open on 1st September 2026.

 

PGDs: Empowering pharmacy technicians to provide services (Online)

On Tuesday 1st September 2026 Time 19:00 – 21:00

This learning programme is designed to strengthen confidence and competence in delivering NHS services under Patient Group Directions (PGDs). Participants will develop a clear understanding of the legal and regulatory requirements for PGDs, enhance their consultation skills through person-centred care and shared decision-making, and recognise when referral to another healthcare professional is appropriate. The course also supports the development of practical service delivery strategies and encourages collaboration with peers to share best practice and improve patient care.

Enrol on our new workshop and get stuck into a prescribing conundrum based around the Menopause. Discuss working in those grey areas with your colleagues and help to meet an important and growing demand in this area.

Blood pressure assessment in community pharmacy: essential skills : CPPE Build the knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver person-centred consultations and clinical assessments as part of the NHS Hypertension Case-Finding Service (HCFS). It includes practical skills training supported by a clinical demonstrator.
