Pharmacy Cancer Screening Referral Service

Following on from the National pilot for the Cancer Screening Service Norfolk and Waveney, the ICB has commissioned a selected number of pharmacies that will continue this service until March 2026. NWICB, CPNS, and the RDS will all continue to work together to support the pharmacies with this service.

We have increased the number of pharmacies offering the service and continue to see referrals made. We are in a very unique position in Norfolk as we have the Rapid Diagnostic service to refer patients to for follow-up and diagnostic treatments. The Rapid Diagnostic Service (RDS) sees patients with non-specific or vague symptoms of cancer. The service will provide virtual and face-to-face clinics to patients with vague symptoms that may be suggestive of cancer.
