Independent Prescribing Project Information

Community Pharmacy Norfolk and Suffolk (CPNS) is working with NHS Norfolk and Suffolk Integrated Care Board (ICB) on a targeted data collection exercise to help build a clearer picture of the current and future Independent Prescribing (IP) workforce across community pharmacy in Norfolk and Suffolk. The information gathered will help inform future workforce planning, commissioning decisions, training opportunities, and the development of community pharmacy clinical services across the region.

We are encouraging all community pharmacists who are already qualified as Independent Prescribers, currently undertaking IP training, or interested in future prescribing training opportunities to complete the data collection form.

Participation is entirely voluntary and the information provided will be used solely to support community pharmacy service planning and workforce development within the ICB Community Pharmacy Commissioning team. The project also aims to better understand areas of clinical interest and future capacity within the sector to support upcoming national and local service developments.

The Community Pharmacy Norfolk & Suffolk team has been specifically funded by NHS Norfolk and Suffolk ICB to undertake this work. This means the project is being delivered separately from contractor levy-funded activities, allowing dedicated resource to be focused on supporting future community pharmacy workforce development and service planning across Norfolk and Suffolk.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss how you are currently using Independent Prescribing within your pharmacy please email info@cpns.org.uk
