Suffolk and North East Essex ICS ‘Can Do’ Health and Care Awards 2025

The winners of the SNEE ICS ‘Can Do’ Health and Care Awards have been announced at an event held on Friday 4th July. The full information can be seen here.

Congratulations to the two pharmacy teams listed below from our area.

Unsung Hero Category: Highly Commended – Olusegun Okunuga and Sharon Hunt -Station Pharmacy, Elmswell

Inspirational Leader Category: Highly Commended – Ashwin Bhatt – Rainbow Pharmacy Ipswich.

Ashwin Bhatt said, “I’m incredibly proud to be nominated by my pharmacy team for the inspiring leader award. The recognition is a testament to the dedication of our great team at Rainbow and our continued commitment to supporting health and wellbeing for our local community.”

Olusegun Okunuga said, It’s an honour to have been nominated and to receive a Highly Commended recognition in the ICS Awards ‘Unsung Hero’ category.

I’m truly grateful that the hard work and commitment of both myself and the team has been recognised. This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and support of an incredible team. We work hard for our patients — not just because it’s our duty, but because we genuinely care and enjoy what we do.

While I feel deeply honoured, I don’t see myself as unique. Community pharmacists across the country go above and beyond every day to improve, impact, and positively influence the lives of their patients.

There are countless ‘hero’ stories within our profession that often go unheard. I hope this recognition helps shine a light on the vital role community pharmacy plays and contributes to a shift in how we are perceived and valued within the NHS.

Once again, I’m sincerely thankful — and we will continue to give our best, as always.
